Hebrews 4:14-16

I. Hold firmly to the confession of Christ.
-high priest = archeireus; arche = beginning, first, head or leader;
-iereus = priest;

-weakness = astheneia = weakness whether from sickness, physical weakness, or weakness related to temptation to sin or temptation to not persevere under persecution
d. He experienced temptation without committing sin.

-F.F. Bruce "Yet he endured triumphantly every form of testing that mankind could endure, without any weakening of His faith in God or any relaxation of His obedience to Him. Such endurance involves more, not less, than ordinary human suffering: sympathy with the sinner in his trial does not depend on the experience of sin but on the experience of the strength of the temptation to sin which only the sinless can know in its full intensity. He who falls yields before the last strain."
